Toledo police are searching for a man who robbed a 59-year-old man Monday while he was asleep with his grandson.

Edward Parker, 2136 Hawthorne St., was sleeping with his grandson, 15, about 4:20 a.m. when he heard pounding on the door of the central Toledo home.

The suspect came in the house and sprayed Mr. Parker in the eyes with Mace. He then ransacked the bedroom and began looking through drawers, police said. The grandson was not sprayed with Mace and was able to see the suspect.

He is described as a white male, about 5 feet, 11 inches, weighing 170 pounds, with short blonde hair.
