Two armed men, one believed to be 16, forced a man out of his mini-van last night and stole it, police said.

The carjacking occurred near Berdan Avenue and Torrance Drive in West Toledo about 11 p.m., police said.

Police began checking the area for the stolen red Chevrolet Astro van and located it near the entrance of Liberty Park. The suspects got out of the vehicle and ran through the park, and split up as they reached Berdan Avenue, police said.

Several concerned citizens called 911 about 1 a.m. and said they believed they spotted one of the suspects involved in the carjacking.

Police responded and apprehended a 16-year-old armed with a handgun, who police said was involved in the carjacking.
