Recycling owner accused of receiving stolen goods

The owner of a North Toledo recycling company was arrested yesterday on charges he knowingly bought $114,577 worth of stolen metal in June, police said.

Lawrence Little, 51, of 3432 Chapel Ct., owner of Lake Erie Recycling, 1011 Matzinger Rd., is to be arraigned today in Toledo Municipal Court on a felony charge of receiving stolen property. He was being held in the Lucas County jail in lieu of a $15,000 bond.

Mr. Little bought 18 crates of transmission pump covers, totaling 9,072 covers, and one crate of 4,000 rack bearings, police said.

The property, which was reported stolen June 30 from Turchan Technologies Group Inc., Dearborn, Mich., was in company crates clearly marked with General Motors Corp. and Turchan tags, police said.
