A Toledo man is in critical condition today after he was allegedly stabbed late last night at Nebraska Avenue and Junction Avenue by another man, who was later arrested, authorities said.

Lonnie Splan, of central Toledo, who police say is the stabbing victim, was listed in critical condition yesterday at Toledo Hospital, a spokesman for the hospital said.

Laquain Woodson, Jr., 34, of 629 Nebraska, who was arrested in connection with the stabbing, was charged with felonious assault, and booked into the Lucas County jail pending arraignment tomorrow in Toledo Municipal Court, Toledo police said.

Officers said the incident occurred in the area of Nebraska and Junction during an altercation between the two men about 11:05 p.m. when Woodson allegedly produced a knife, stabbed Mr. Splan, and fled the scene.

Woodson was arrested this morning in the rear of 1540 Nebraska, officers said.
