Two men were assaulted and their bicycles stolen in separate incidents in central Toledo Wednesday, less than two miles apart, police reports said.

Talal Abdulhadi, 28, whose address was unavailable, was riding his bicycle in the 800 block of South Avenue toward Broadway about 9:30 p.m. when he was struck from behind with an unknown object, police said.

The blow knocked Mr. Abdulhadi off of his bicycle and when he looked up, the bike was gone, police said. He was unable to give a description of thieves.

Dwayne Jones, 43, whose address was unavailable, told police he was sitting in a courtyard in the 300 block of Nebraska about 10:25 p.m. when a group of teens assaulted him and stole his bike, a police report said.

Both men suffered minor injuries. No arrests were made.
