An 11-year-old Robinson Middle School student was arrested Tuesday after a teacher found 22-caliber ammunition in his bookbag, authorities said.

It was the second weapon-related incident at a Toledo Public School this week and the third since last week.

Also on Tuesday, police searched for a 16-year-old Scott High School student seen holding a gun in the air.

Last week, a 13-year-old Robinson student was arrested for carrying a BB pistol outside that school.

At Robinson Tuesday, a student told a teacher that a student had bullets in his bookbag at the school, 1075 Horace St.

While the student was in gym class about 10 a.m., the teacher checked the bag and found a 22-caliber magazine containing seven rounds of ammunition inside the bag. The youth, who told police he found the bullets in the street, was charged with delinquency in connection with violating the safe-school ordinance and was taken to the Lucas County Juvenile Justice Center.

After the incident at Scott, an arrest warrant was issued for student Marquis Hayes. He was charged with delinquency in connection with violating the safe-school ordinance and conveyance of a weapon on school premises.

The Robinson student last week was charged with delinquency in connection with violating the safe-school ordinance and illegal possession of an object indistinguishable from a firearm on school premises.
