Three Woodward High School students a female and two males were attacked on their way to school this morning, school officials and police said.

In what appears to be separate incidents, the female was sexually assaulted and the males were attacked, said Patty Mazur, Toledo Public Schools spokesman.

The female was assaulted near Ash and Erie streets, said Toledo police Sgt. Sam Harris of the special victims unit.

The ages of the victims and the extent of their injuries were not immediately released this morning.

The school at 600 E. Streicher St. in North Toledo was locked down after the three students arrived at school and reported the incidents. The girl was taken to a hospital.

Police questioned several suspects this morning, Ms. Mazur said.

The school remained on lock down when no one is permitted in or out until about 9:30 a.m.
