Speeders, other scofflaws targeted

10/18/2007

The Lucas County Sheriff's Office will begin a two-week traffic enforcement campaign today through the end of the month targeting speed and other traffic violations.

Deputies will increase patrols in areas where they've received complaints of speeding and drivers running red lights and stop signs.

Deputies will target Salisbury Road, State Rt. 2, Angola Road, and U.S. 24, and other areas in Lucas County where problems arise.

The deputies' overtime is covered by about $40,000 in state and federal grants.
