BELLEVUE, Ohio Bellevue City Schools were on a two-hour delay for a bomb threat early Thursday morning before being closed for the day, authorities said.

Area law enforcement agents were bringing in sniffer dogs just before 7 a.m. to check all seven buildings of the school district for a bomb threat, Evelyn Woodruff, administrative assistant to the superintendant said.

That s after someone said on a Sandusky Register blog that an attempt to blow up a school building was underway, Ms. Woodruff said.

The Sandusky County sheriff s office announced that the city s schools have been closed for the day.

"We received an anonmous e-mail threat and as of 6:45 this morning I cancelled school in the school district and we ve pulled all our resources to investigate the incident and search all the buildings," said Stephen Schum, the schools superintendent.

"I take the safety and security of our students and our employees and our teachers very seriously. That is of paramount importance."

As of 12:30 p.m. authorities were still investigating and haven t found anything at that point, Mr. Schum said.

Bellevue is about 35 miles southeast of Toledo.
