A 6-year-old boy was hurt Sunday when he was attacked by a Rottweiler that got loose from a fenced yard in central Toledo, authorities said.
Rashad Mathis was mauled by the dog while he was playing ball about 4:20 p.m. near his home at 939 Avondale Ave., authorities said. He was taken to St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center with lacerations to his head and face.
A nursing supervisor said she had no information on a patient by that name.
The dog's owner, Evelyn Tripmett, was not cited, the Lucas County Dog Warden's Office said.
