In a three-day drug sweep at 26 Toledo addresses, police arrested 53 people and confiscated an estimated $111,000 worth of cocaine and crack cocaine, narcotics detectives said yesterday.

Also confiscated in the raids Wednesday through Friday were $830 worth of heroin, $5,385 of marijuana, more than $2,000 worth of various prescription pills, four handguns, and a Chinese assault rifle.

Seven pit bulls were seized by the Lucas County Dog Warden's Office. Collectively, suspects were charged with 80 felonies and 77 misdemeanors. Many of the search warrants were for addresses in the central city and East Toledo.

A narcotics detective's hand was bitten by one of the dogs, and he was treated at a local hospital. His name was not released.

The sweep was dubbed "Operation Dirty Boy" as a nod to the late vice narcotics Detective Keith Dressel's nickname. The sweep overlapped the one-year anniversary of Detective Dressel's death in the line of duty.
