A New York man was indicted by a Lucas County grand jury on possession of cocaine and trafficking in cocaine charges.

Melvin Baker, 46, was arrested this month on the Ohio Turnpike in Springfield Township after being stopped for speeding about three miles east of Toledo Express Airport, according to the Ohio Highway Patrol.

An estimated $300,000 worth of cocaine about 4.4 pounds was found in his sport utility vehicle, authorities said.

Baker was held in the county jail in lieu of $750,000 bond last night, after his arraignment Friday.

If convicted, he faces a maximum penalty of 20 years in prison and a $40,000 fine.
