Toledo police issued arrest warrants for two men believed to be involved in a shooting early Sunday in East Toledo, authorities said.
David Randall, 27, of 1226 Navarre Ave. and Jesse Garcia, 22, of 1460 Remington St. were charged with felonious assault.
Two men, both armed with handguns, forced their way into a house in the 600 block of Berry Street near Nevada Street about 2:50 a.m. Mr. Randall is accused of then shooting Kerry Trester, 42, who lived there, once in the chest, police said.
Mr. Trester was taken to St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center, where a nursing supervisor said yesterday she had no information on a patient by that name. Police said Mr. Trester is expected to survive.
The gunmen fled after the shooting, police said.
