Owners of Bowling Green motel accused of man s assault

BOWLING GREEN The owners of the Knights Inn on East Wooster Street were arrested after being accused of assaulting a homeless man who inquired about renting a room.

George S. Kouza, 22, was charged with felonious assault; his father, Sam Kouza, 56, was charged with complicity to felonious assault. Both men appeared yesterday before Bowling Green Municipal Court Judge Mark Reddin, who granted them personal recognizance bonds.

Witnesses saw George Kouza kick and punch Peter Turczyn, 49, in the face about 1 p.m. Friday, while Sam Kouza held Mr. Turczyn to the ground near the hotel, police said. The victim refused treatment at Wood County Hospital, police said.
