Three men suspected of burglary arrested after car crash, chase with police

Three young men who were suspected of breaking into a home in West Toledo were apprehended Wednesday morning after their car crashed into a fence and they were chased on foot by police.

Toledo police Sgt. Bob Baumgartner said a witness reported a break-in in the 2400 block of Goddard Road and called police. Authorities arrived and chased the suspects for several blocks through the Old Orchard neighborhood before the suspects car crashed into a backyard fence at 2301 Pemberton Dr. at Brantford Road.

The suspects fled the vehicle but were caught following a short pursuit involving Toledo and Ottawa Hills police.

No one was believed to be home at the time of the break-in and no injuries were reported. The sergeant said charges are pending.
