Two men accused of stealing anhydrous ammonia at Henry County elevator

FLORIDA, Ohio Two Paulding County men were arrested late Tuesday after they were accused of stealing anhydrous ammonia at the Stanley Elevator near this Henry County community, a common element used to produce methamphetamine, authorities said.

John Mobley, 37, and Robert Gibson, 47, were each charged with felony theft of anhydrous ammonia. They were being held at the Corrections Center of Northwest Ohio near Stryker pending arraignment Wednesday in Napoleon Municipal Court.

The men were arrested in the area of the Flatrock Township elevator, according to the Henry County Sheriff s Office. The time of the arrest was not released.

Sheriff s deputies acting on a tip discovered evidence of the theft at the elevator and located Mr. Mobley s vehicle parked nearby. A short time later, a sheriff s canine unit located the men, sheriff s deputies said.

Florida is about 40 miles southwest of Toledo.
