Elderly man stabbed in his central Toledo residence

An elderly man was stabbed late Sunday in his Cherry Street residence in central Toledo, and police were looking for a woman Monday in connection with the incident, authorities said.
Harry Pitts, Jr., 70, the stabbing victim, was taken to St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center, Toledo police said. He was listed in fair condition early Monday, a hospital spokesman said.
Police were looking for Patrice Rivers, 40, whose address and relationship to the victim were being withheld.
The incident occurred at the victims residence on Cherry near West Oakland Street.
A police crew was sent about midnight to Cherry and Mentor Drive, about a block and a half away from the scene of the stabbing.
Upon arrival, officers found the victim suffering from a stab wound to the right side of the chest, at which time the man identified a person who he believed had stabbed him, officers said.
The man told officers that a woman he knew stabbed him with a knife with a four-inch blade in his residence and then chased him outside. He told them he ran to the 300 block of Mentor and had someone call 911, according to the police report.
The victim believed the woman had fled in a vehicle. Police searched the mans residence and found evidence of a struggle. The knife was not found, police said.
The man, who appeared to be in his 70s, was taken to St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center, according to the Lucas County EMS. His name and condition were not released.
A 911 caller reported the stabbing about midnight, an EMS dispatcher said.
After he was stabbed, the man walked a couple of blocks to Mentor Drive, where rescue crews found him a short time later, the dispatcher said.
Circumstances of the incident remained unclear, Toledo police said.
Police were looking for a suspect but there was no word on arrests early Monday, officers said.
