BOWLING GREEN A local woman found unconscious in a downtown parking lot last week apparently was hurt when she fell from a 6-foot fence, police said.

Alison Balthis, 21, remained in critical condition yesterday in St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center, Toledo, where she was taken after officers found her at 1:45 a.m. Friday. She was bleeding from the head and appeared to be intoxicated.

Detective Jason Stanley said investigators believed her head injuries were caused by an accidental fall. Medical personnel confirmed that her injuries were consistent with a fall and not suspicious in nature.

She was found near a 6-foot chain-link fence that separates Howard s Club H and the Brathaus. Detective Stanley said bar patrons had been known to climb over an old fence that used to separate the lots, but a higher fence with barbed wire at the top recently was installed.
