FINDLAY A Newark, Ohio man was arrested in Findlay Monday evening in connection with the beating death of his 3-year-old stepson in Licking County.

Corey S. Flugga, 22, is being held in the Hancock County jail after he reportedly refused to waive extradition to Newark. According to the Hancock County Sheriff s Office, he was brought to the jail by Findlay police at 7:55 p.m. Monday "on a courtesy hold" for Licking County.

Newark Police said Mr. Flugga was wanted in connection with Saturday s death of Carson James Hanson, who died of blunt force trauma in his home in Newark, which is directly east of Columbus.

The Newark Fire Department was called to the child s home about 5:30 p.m. Saturday where they found young Hanson unresponsive. He was taken to Licking Memorial Hospital in Newark, where he was pronounced dead.

Mr. Flugga reportedly has relatives in Findlay.
