BOWLING GREEN - Police are searching for a second Bowling Green State University football player believed to have been involved in a June 2 home invasion at a Klotz Road apartment.

Jacob Hardwick, 21, was indicted last week by a Wood County grand jury on charges of robbery and aggravated burglary.

Bowling Green police Lt. Tony Hetrick said officers tried to serve the warrant on Mr. Hardwick at his Bowling Green apartment Saturday night but found the apartment vacant.

About 10:25 p.m., three intruders reportedly broke into an apartment at the Enclave II complex wearing masks and carrying what appeared to be handguns. They demanded marijuana from the occupants, then ransacked the apartment.

Mr. Hardwick's ex-roommate, Orlando Barrow, 19, was arrested the night of the crime and has been indicted on the same charges. He is free on bond.

Kim McBroom, spokesman for BGSU, said Mr. Hardwick and Mr. Barrow have been removed from the football team.

Assistant Wood County Prosecutor Paul Dobson said a third suspect has been identified but not charged.
