Police were looking for three burglars accused of severely cutting a man on one of his shins yesterday at his house in South Toledo.

David Ronstadt of Wayne Street, whose age was unavailable, was admitted to the University of Toledo Medical Center, the former Medical College of Ohio Hospital, police said. A hospital spokesman said she had no information about a person by that name.

Mr. Ronstadt told police that three strangers barged into his house a few minutes after midnight. One of the intruders punched the victim in the eye and another held him at gunpoint while the third ransacked the house.

A short time later, one of the intruders found a knife, used it to cut a telephone cord, and then cut the victim s right shin. The three fled without taking anything, police said.
