A 26-year-old man was shot accidentally in the leg yesterday after allegedly pistol-whipping one man during a struggle with several others for the weapon, police said.

Vickton Moore of 284 Kingswood Trail Drive was treated at St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center after being wounded about 5:45 p.m.

He then was arrested and charged with felonious assault, Sgt. Tim Campbell said.

Mr. Moore and as many as 10 people were fighting in the 1400 block of Lincoln Avenue when the suspect hit Terrance Williams, 26, of central Toledo, over the head with the gun, Sergeant Campbell said.

During the resulting struggle over the weapon, Mr. Moore was shot. It was unclear who shot Mr. Moore, Sergeant Campbell said.
