A man was stabbed in the chest late Wednesday in East Toledo by another man who found the victim in bed with a woman. Toledo police were looking for a suspect Thursday morning, authorities said.

Terry Martin, whose age and condition were not released, was taken to St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center, Toledo police said. A hospital spokesman said Thursday morning that she had no information about a person by that name.

Toledo police were looking for Henry Walton Jr., 43, whose address was not released, for his role in the stabbing, a police report said. A complaint against him was filed in Toledo Municipal Court and a probable cause was found. A warrant for his arrest and a felonious assault charge were pending Thursday morning at Toledo Municipal Court, according to the court records.

Mr. Martin and the woman were in bed in a house in the 600 block of Platt Street about 10:45 p.m. when a man entered the residence and began yelling at her, accusing her of cheating on him. The intruder then threatened to kill them both while brandishing the victim s kitchen knife, officer said.

Mr. Martin then told the woman to run and get help and tried to get out of the house himself, at which time the intruder stabbed him in the chest with the kitchen knife and fled.

The victim was then taken to the hospital, prior to the police arrival at the scene.

The incident remained under investigation. As of about noon Thursday, there was no word on arrests in the case.
