Police yesterday were investigating two robberies that occurred within five minutes of one another Sunday at two West Toledo restaurants involving a man who covered his face with a hooded sweatshirt.

The robber, with the sweatshirt pulled up over his mouth and the hood pulled down over his head, walked into Little Caesars Pizza, 3245 West Alexis Rd., about 2 p.m. and demanded money.

An employee gave the man, who was holding a gun, an undisclosed amount of cash before he fled south on Gay Street, police said.

About a half-mile away, a man with his face concealed in a similar manner walked into Subway, 5447 Secor Rd., about 2:05 p.m.

The robber, who also had a gun, approached the counter and demanded money, police said.

An employee put the cash drawer on the counter and the man took an undisclosed amount of cash and then fled down Grayling Place.

A witness saw the robber get into a dark green vehicle with a tan convertible top, police said.
