FOSTORIA A 12-year veteran of the Fostoria police department has been fired.

Sgt. Clayton Moore, who joined the force in 1986 and was promoted to sergeant last year, was terminated Wednesday for conduct unbecoming an officer and for violations of the police code of conduct and policy procedure manual, according to Police Chief John McGuire.

The chief declined to say what specific conduct resulted in the decision to fire Sergeant Moore, who had been on administrative leave for several weeks.
