First fire crews arrived at 243 Wasaon St. about 1:40 a.m. and saw flames coming from the duplex, which was unoccupied at the time. About six hours later, firefighters were still at the scene monitoring the collapsed wood-frame structure for hot spots, according to the Toledo Fire Department.
The Lucas County Auditor's Web site lists Jonathon Rhodes as the owner of the duplex, which was built in 1887. Bought in 1987, it was valued at $16,000 at the time, according to county records.
More details will be posted as they become available.
