Toledo fire dept. taking applications for test
4/1/2011The Toledo Fire Department is accepting applicants for the next class of fire recruits to take the department test in June.
The department is expecting to hire a class of at least 25 probationary firefighters in late 2011, city officials said Thursday.
Applicants must be 18 by Dec. 12, but no more than 34 on the date of the examination, which is tentatively set for June 12.
The civil service recruitment process for the department includes filling out an interest card, completing an application, and taking the exam. Applicants with a passing score will be included in the eligibility list for future fire academy classes.
Anyone interested may complete an interest card in person at the city of Toledo human resources department in One Government Center or at the fire and rescue department’s Office of Recruitment at 398 Nebraska Ave. between the hours of 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. Interest cards will also be accepted via e-mail.
