More charges expected in Seneca County fatality

ATTICA, Ohio — Additional charges are expected to be filed against a Seneca County motorist involved in a two-car crash after the driver of the other vehicle died from her injuries.

Marilyn Hord, 79, of Willard, Ohio, died Thursday in Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center, where she was taken after the March 24 crash on U.S. 224 south of Attica. According to the Ohio Highway Patrol, she was westbound on U.S. 224 about 6 p.m. when an eastbound car driven by Shawn Lantz, 34, crossed the center line and struck her car.

Trooper Justin Powell said Mr. Lantz has been cited for driving left of center and no seat belt. He said Mr. Lantz, who had four children in his car, told others he had fallen asleep at the wheel.
