CLYDE — The second teen charged in vandalizing McPherson Cemetery in Clyde last summer was sentenced in Sandusky County Juvenile Court.

The 17-year-old was ordered Monday by Judge Brad Smith to serve at least six months in the custody of the Ohio Department of Youth Services. The youth pleaded guilty in February to one count of felony vandalism. He must make partial restitution for damage done to more than 200 grave markers on three occasions at the end of August and beginning of September.

Clyde police Detective Marc Roach told the judge the youth didn’t cooperate with police during the investigation, and the judge noted during sentencing the youth’s apparent lack of remorse and dishonesty.

The other 17-year-old was ordered to serve three months of house arrest, perform 200 hours of community service, and make partial restitution.
