Toledo man charged for leaving scene of accident
4/6/2011A Toledo man who’s accused of fleeing the scene of a crash just after midnight Wednesday is being held at the Lucas County jail on $10,000 bond, according to court records.
Leslie Richardson, 22, was charged with failure to stop after an accident. Authorities said Mr. Richardson struck a pedestrian, Michael Norwood, 53, when he illegally crossed Dorr Street. Mr. Norwood was walking west on Dorr, approaching Waverly Avenue.
Mr. Norwood was taken to Toledo Hospital where he was listed in fair condition Wednesday afternoon.
A witness followed Mr. Richardson and called police. Mr. Richardson was arrested without incident. He is scheduled to appear in Toledo Municipal Court on April 13.
