Information is sought on air conditioner thefts

Toledo police are seeking information through the Crime Stopper program about the theft Thursday of air conditioner units from four houses in the 1600 block of Norwood Avenue.

Police said residents in three of the four houses reported the locks on their back fences had been cut off. Taken from the rear of each house was a 2.5-ton air conditioner unit. One house was broken into, and the furnace, hot water heater, and kitchen appliances were taken -- in addition to the air conditioner unit. The residents told police that the thefts likely occurred between 3 and 5 a.m. There were no witnesses, and police have no suspects.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Crime Stopper program. Callers may remain anonymous and could be eligible for a cash reward.
