MONROE -- Troopers at the Monroe post of the Michigan State Police are seeking information that will help them find and arrest the person responsible for a home invasion Wednesday and the assault of the 75-year-old resident.

Troopers said a man with a box cutter forced his way into an apartment about 10:30 p.m. Wednesday at Creekside Village Senior Apartments, 1450 South Monroe St. in Monroe Township. The resident was attacked and but not believed to be hurt in the robbery.

Troopers said the suspect was 30 to 40 years old, 5 feet, 10 inches to 6 feet tall, and 180 to 200 pounds. The man, in blue jeans and light-colored shirt, fled in a late 1990s or early 2000s white or gray GM vehicle. Another male was reportedly in the vehicle, troopers said.
