TIFFIN — A Tiffin man was in serious condition Wednesday at the University of Toledo Medical Center, formerly Medical College of Ohio Hospital, after a two-vehicle crash on County Road 592 in Liberty Township.

Christopher Dowler, 43, of Tiffin was driving a sport utility vehicle west on Seneca County Road 592 and failed to stop at a stop sign Tuesday afternoon, according to the Ohio Highway Patrol. He crashed into a vehicle driven north on County Road 31 by James Kizer III, 34, of Tiffin.

Mr. Kizer was taken to Tiffin Mercy Hospital; a condition was not available Wednesday night.

Ted Baillet, 22, a passenger in Mr. Kizer’s vehicle, was reportedly taken to UTMC, but a nursing supervisor said the hospital did not have a patient by that name.

Jacob Dowler, 19, of Tiffin, a passenger in the SUV, was not injured.
