LIMA, Ohio — A West Farmington, Ohio, man was hurt seriously when struck by a vehicle while walking across a road just west of Lima, the Ohio Highway Patrol said.

Dakota Snowden, 20, was listed in critical condition Tuesday in St. Rita’s Mercy Medical Center, Lima, a hospital spokesman said.

Mr. Snowden was crossing Hartzler Road south of American Drive in Allen County’s American Township about 9:40 p.m. Monday when he was struck by a northbound vehicle driven by Benjamin Olsen, 20, of Richmond, Va., the patrol said. Mr. Olsen, who was passing a vehicle stopped for pedestrians, failed to see Mr. Snowden, troopers said.

The accident remains under investigation.
