1 driver is arrested at sobriety check
6/5/2011One driver was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol and drugs as well as charged with possession of marijuana as a result of a sobriety checkpoint in Oregon.
Police said 1,155 vehicles were stopped at the checkpoint in the 2800 block of State Rt. 2 from 8 p.m. Friday to 12:30 a.m. Saturday.
Of those, 50 were diverted for further inspection, Oregon police said.
Four people were charged with seat belt or child restraint violations, and two motorcyclists were charged for operating without a valid endorsement to operate. Seven other citations were issued, and two vehicles were towed.
