This week, the Ohio State Highway Patrol will host a drunken-driving checkpoint to "deter and intercept impaired drivers."

The county where the checkpoint will take place will be announced the day before the checkpoint; the location will be announced the same day as the checkpoint.

Highway Patrol authorities encourage anyone who plans to consume alcohol to designate a driver or make other travel plans prior to drinking.
