Toledo police are looking for a 19-year-old man who they allege shot and killed a man earlier this week.

Byron Mitchell, of 3077 Tremainsville Rd., is accused of “knowingly [firing] a 9mm semi-automatic handgun at Eric Daniels and did hit Daniels in the back causing injuries that resulted in Daniels death,” according to an arrest warrant filed Wednesday in Toledo Municipal Court.

Mr. Daniels was shot about 7:50 p.m. on July 3 while at an impromptu car show in a parking lot at Monroe Street and Detroit Avenue. He is the 10th homicide victim this year in Toledo — the second in July.

Marquan McCuin, 18, was also gunned down in an alley behind the 1100 block of Gordon Street, just a block from his home on Daniels Avenue on July 3, just after 1 a.m.

Police have issued an arrest warrant for Gerald Banks, 18, which alleges that he shot Mr. McCuin.

Mr. Banks has not been arrested.
