Toledo police are looking for a 19-year-old man who they allege shot and killed a man this week.

Byron Mitchell of 3077 Tremainsville Rd. is accused of “knowingly [firing] a 9mm semi-automatic handgun at Eric Daniels and did hit Daniels in the back causing injuries that resulted in Daniels’ death,” states an arrest warrant filed Wednesday in Toledo Municipal Court. Mr. Daniels was shot about 7:50 p.m. Sunday while at an impromptu car show at Monroe Street and Detroit Avenue. He is Toledo’s 10th homicide victim of the year and the second in July.

Also Sunday, Marquan McCuin, 18, was gunned down in an alley behind the 1100 block of Gordon Street, near his home on Daniels Avenue, just after 1 a.m. Police have issued an arrest warrant for Gerald Banks, 18, that alleges he shot Mr. McCuin. Mr. Banks has not been arrested.
