Firefighter injured in vacant house fire

A Toledo firefighter was injured when helping fight a fire at a vacant house in central Toledo, authorities said.

The man, whose name was unavailable, was treated at Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center, according to the Toledo fire department. The nature of his injuries was not released.

Fire crews arrived at 818 West Delaware Ave. about 5:05 a.m. Monday and saw flames coming from the building. They brought the fire under control by 5:24 a.m., according to the fire department.

Arson investigators have been called to the scene.

The damage estimate was unavailable.

The Lucas County Auditor’s Web site lists Douglas and Elena Bradford as the owners of the two-story wood frame house, which was built in 1902.
