Crews battle east-side fires

Toledo firefighters were battling more blazes on the city’s east side Friday morning.

The first fire was called in at 2:56 a.m. at 727 Hoag St., a vacant home. Authorities said the fire spread to a neighboring home, causing damages.

A garage fire was reported at 3:44 a.m. at 1230 Navarre Ave. The fire there also spread to other nearby garages.

Both fires are being investigated as arsons.

These latest fires brings to 10 the number of fires that have been sent in East Toledo this week.

The fire department has announced a $5,000 reward for anyone with information that leads to the arrest of individuals involved. Call Crime Stoppers at 419-255-1111.
