A man was transported to the hospital late Friday afternoon after he was shot in the leg during a robbery at a North Toledo carryout.

The man, whose name was not released, suffered a non life-threatening bullet wound to the left leg, and a laceration to the neck, said Toledo Police Sergeant Stephen Zarecki.

Sergeant Zarecki said a man wearing a white shirt and shorts entered Our Food Market, located in the 400 block of Streicher Avenue near Elm Street, at about 4:40 p.m., shot the victim in the leg, and hit him in the neck with the firearm. He then grabbed an undisclosed amount of money and fled east toward Lagrange Street, Mr. Zarecki said.

The victim was transported to Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center by ambulance. Police continue to investigate the crime.
