An 18-year-old man was shot in the left hand and buttocks Saturday in North Toledo, police said.

DeSean Payne-Pattin, of the 3500 block of North Erie Street, was taken to Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center. His condition was not available.

Handgun shell casings were found in the entryway of an apartment building at 3749 North Erie, officers on the scene said.

Police were given conflicting reports about what happened, Sgt. William Wauford said, but investigators believe a quarrel preceded the shooting.

Meanwhile, police continue to investigate a shooting about 11:35 p.m. Friday in the 3100 block of Cheltenham Road in West Toledo.

The name of the victim and his condition were unavailable. He was taken by Life Squad to Toledo Hospital, authorities said.

A person dressed in black was seen running out of a backyard and south on Cheltenham toward West Central Avenue.
