Man shot in foot in West Toledo ID'd

Toledo police Saturday afternoon identified Deshawn Reese as the man who was shot in the central city early in the morning.

The victim, whose age and address were unavailable, was taken to Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center with a gunshot wound to the foot, police said. A hospital spokesman said she had no information about a person by that name.

The shooting occurred about 2 a.m. in the 3300 block of Monroe Street near Auburn Avenue, police said. The motive was not released.

There was no word of arrests in the case as of Saturday afternoon.
