WOODVILLE -- Local firefighters and the State Fire Marshal are meeting Wednesday morning to investigate an outbuilding fire Tuesday evening on State Rt. 105 in Sandusky County's Woodville Township.

The blaze was reported about 7:50 p.m. and took between about two and a half hours to get under control, said fire Capt. David Miller. The garage was "as large as a barn" which is why the call initially came in as a barn fire, the captain said.

Authorities do not know what started the fire, but when crews arrived on scene the building was fully involved and is a total loss, Captain Miller said.

One person -- a sibling of the homeowner -- was taken to the hospital, but the injury was unrelated to the fire, the captain said. The severity of the injuries are unknown.

"It was a pretty major fire for us," Captain Miller said.

Firefighters from Woodville, Gibsonburg, Pemberville, and Harris-Elmore departments were on scene.
