A well-dressed woman who robbed a South Toledo bank Tuesday could be the same person wanted for a different South Toledo heist in May.

A woman armed with a knife wearing a red dress and high heels robbed Charter One Bank, 1460 S. Byrne Rd., about 12:25 p.m. Tuesday, by handing the teller a written note demanding money. After being given an undisclosed amount of money, the women fled on foot and then got into a gold-colored sport-utility vehicle.

Police describe the suspect as a black woman, approximately 5 feet, 3 inches tall, 130 pounds, and about 30 years old. She was wearing a shoulder-length light-brown wig and dark-colored heels, and was carrying a tan purse, authorities said.

In May, a “professionally dressed” woman robbed a different South Toledo Charter One at 1501 Detroit Ave. The woman from the May heist was described by authorities as a thin, black woman about 30 years old, about 5 feet, 3 inches to 5 feet, 5 inches tall. The woman was wearing a pink blouse, brown skirt, heels, and large sunglasses. She, too, carried a tan canvas purse.

“Based on the similarities, primarily the pictures [from both robberies], it’s something we’re looking into, but we’re not to the point where we can definitely say they’re related,” said FBI Special Agent David Dustin.

Anyone with information about the robbery is asked to call the FBI at 419-243-6122 or Crime Stoppers at 419-255-1111.
