Man dies after shooting in Central Toledo
8/22/2011One man is dead and two others injured after a shooting Monday night outside a residence in the 1300 block of Foster Avenue in Central Toledo.
Toledo Police Chief Mike Navarre said the victim, a male in his 30s or 40s, was shot in the back of the head, and died at Toledo Hospital, where he had been transported after the 9:20 p.m. incident.
Two of the victims were transported by emergency squad; the third was taken by a private vehicle, police learned.
Police said one of the victims was in a pickup, and a second man was outside the truck in a driveway at 1363 Foster Ave. when the shooting occurred. It is unknown where the third victim was when he was shot.
Authorities said at least one person was seen approaching the victims on foot before the shooting, and possibly as many as three.
Police did not release names last night and remained at the scene investigating after 11 p.m.
This is the 15th homicide in Metro Toledo in 2011.
