Police release names of 2 victims in central Toledo shooting
8/23/2011One man is dead and one other was injured after a shooting Monday night outside a residence in the 1300 block of Foster Avenue in central Toledo.
Police said Christopher Lawrence, 39, of Rockingham Street in Toledo was pronounced dead of his wounds at Toledo Hospital. Kennie Brown, 22, of Tecumseh Street in Toledo was treated at Toledo Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Toledo Police Chief Mike Navarre said the deceased victim was shot in the back of the head in the 9:20 p.m. incident.
Police said one of the victims was in a pickup, and a second man was outside the truck in a driveway at 1363 Foster Ave. when the shooting occurred.
Early reports indicated a third victim. However, police on Tuesday identified only two victims.
Authorities said at least one person was seen approaching the victims on foot before the shooting, and possibly as many as three.
This was the 17th homicide in Metro Toledo in 2011.
