Toledo police said the University of Toledo assistant women’s basketball coach was said to be at fault in an accident in which he was hit by a car while out for a run in West Toledo.

Todd Mitmesser, 40, of West Toledo’s Old Orchard neighborhood, was cited for pedestrian abuse of a crosswalk, according to the police report. He was taken with nonlife-threatening injuries to Toledo Hospital, police said.

Authorities said Mr. Mitmesser was jogging on Kenwood Boulevard at Douglas and ran into the intersection on a red light. He was hit by a northbound car driven by Dorothy Dunbar, 75, of Toledo.
