NEAPOLIS — A Liberty Center woman was injured Monday night when she drove her car off Neowash Road in Providence Township and struck a utility pole, the Ohio Highway Patrol said.

Danielle Peper, 35, was flown to University of Toledo Medical Center, where she was listed in stable condition, a hospital spokesman said.

A friend of the victim who went to the accident told troopers she was talking to the victim at the time of the accident and that her friend had swerved to avoid hitting an animal that crossed the road, causing her to go into the ditch on the left side of the road.

Ms. Peper, who was wearing her seatbelt, was extricated by Providence Township Fire Department firefighters. The accident didn’t disrupt electrical service to Toledo Edison customers, troopers said.

The accident was still being investigated Monday night.
