While two people distracted store employees, the man got into a case at Zales about 4:40 p.m. Thursday, taking 42 diamond rings from the cases, which are locked, according to a police report.

The other is a black man, 5 feet, 6 inches; 230 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes.

Zales employees reported the theft about 20 minutes later.
